Instead of having to use an unintuitive CLI to configure one conventional network switch at a time, with the Peplink SD Switch, network administrator can edit configuration as well as Power over Ethernet (PoE) on/off operation on Peplink InControl 2’s web-based interface and apply it to all of their SD Switches at once.

All SD Switches are constantly visible on and instantly reachable from InControl 2. Troubleshooting Made Easy

Finding the culprit using the unintuitive CLI could be rather frustrating. Command is entered to have output spitted out, one at a time. This design of the CLI limits the communication ability of conventional network switch with network administrator.

The Peplink SD Switch is designed to solve this problem. Equipped with a bundle of features to aid troubleshooting, there are tools on the Peplink InControl 2 platform to allow network administrator to quickly find the culprit. Network administrator can login to the InControl 2 platform anywhere with an internet connection using an internet browser or with the Peplink InControl 2 mobile app and access the troubleshooting tools.

Time-stamped network event logs can be searched, filtered and examined in details. All the connected network hosts can be viewed and specific host can be pinpointed to the exact port. The SD Switch is designed to work with the network administrator to keep peace in the network.

Redundancies for Unbreakable Connectivity

Instead of being stuck with a network switch running on a single power supply or using expensive swappable power components which would translate into a budget-breaking overall equipment cost, the Peplink SD Switch is equipped with dual AC power inputs and up to 3x power supply units (PSU).

The dual AC power inputs provides extra redundancy on the power source. If one of the two source loses connection, the SD Switch will still have access to power via the other power input. The extra PSUs in the SD Switch balance the power flow among them. This innovative power load balancing engineering avoids stressing any single PSU and prolongs operation expectancy. And if some of the PSUs fail, the SD Switch will be supplied the power it needs via the other PSUs for switching operation, whereas PoE operation can be scaled back according to a administrator-defined port priority scheme.

This cutting-edge approach extends the lifetime of the SD Switch beyond a single failure in the power supply, without breaking the budget for the network administrator.
