Peplink MediaFast Router

Peplink MediaFast router

Peplink MediaFast router supercharges video delivery and content access.

The MediaFast router seamlessly caches video, iTunes U, TED Talks, and other content, in its built-in SSD storage for uninterrupted playback and unlimited access anytime.

Critical security and app updates can be cached for immediate delivery to all vulnerable hosts. This reduced bandwidth usage and threat response time.

Together with Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Peplink patented SpeedFusion Hybrid WAN bandwidth bonding, you can use different wired or wireless internet technologies and providers to increase bandwidth and network reliability, at the same time or as backup. This gives you more bandwidth than any individual provider can offer and keeps your network up when individual links go down.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MediaFast router will automatically and intelligently remove unused or less frequently used cache to make room for frequently accessed content.

Yes, with a CA cert installed at the client or host. Here is how to install a CA cert.

Download Once. Unlimited Access.

The MediaFast router can prefetch video, iTunes U, TED Talks, and other content during off-peak hours and store them in its built-in SSD storage. The prefetched video or content can then be access at peak times without using internet bandwidth.

This reduces network burden at peak times and saves bandwidth cost if bandwidth is charged at a lower rate during off-peak hours.

A classroom of 20 student, each with an iPad, watching a 15 minute TED Talk video would incur roughly 20 x 800Mb of 16Gb of bandwidth usage, taking up almost 18Mb of bandwidth per second. And that is just one classroom.

With MediaFast prefetching, the TED Talk will be downloaded and cached for unlimited playback. Bandwidth usage drops from 16Gb to 800Mb and takes up less than 1Mbps for the entire classroom.

Reduce Threat Response Time and Bandwidth Usage

The MediaFast also caches critical app and security updates.

This ensures immediate delivery to vulnerable hosts requesting them, thereby reducing threat response time as well as bandwidth usage.

A MediaFast router was able to save 15% of bandwidth usage from Windows app and security alone, in an office with 10 Windows computers.

Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN)

Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN)

Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) can be activated on the MediaFast router with software licenses.

This allows the MediaFast router to use different wired or wireless internet technologies and providers, at the same time or as backup. This gives you more bandwidth than any individual wired or wireless provider can offer and keeps your network up when individual links go down.

The MediaFast router will on one hand increase bandwidth and network reliability, and on the other, reduce bandwidth usage and supercharge content delivery

SpeedFusion Bandwidth Bonding Hybrid WAN

Peplink patented SpeedFusion Bandwidth Bonding Hybrid WAN can also be activated on the MediaFast router with software licenses.

This allows the MediaFast router to combine Fibre, DSL, DSL, 4G LTE/3G, or any mix and match of private and public internet into a single bonded data-pipe to other Peplink Balance or Pepwave MAX SD-WAN routers.
